The World Expo 2010 will be held in Shanghai, China from 1 May - 31 October 2010. The theme, 'Better City - Better Life' signifies Shanghai’s new status in the 21st century as a major economic and cultural player. Expo 2010 is expected to generate the largest number of visitors in the history of world fairs in terms of gross numbers i.e 70 million visitors and over 200 participants over a six-month period. Major sources of international visitors are expected to be from Korea and Japan.

Central to the Pacific Pavilion will be a regional retail store. The retail store will operate as a stand-alone business venture with the sole purpose of conducting a retail business. Items for sale will be sourced widely from Pacific Island Countries and must be items that are of origin to a Pacific Island Country e.g handicraft, black pearls, coconut beauty products, kava, noni, coffee, vanilla, pepper, souvenir pins, philatelic products, flags etc..
